Join us for a local meeting of Critical Studies of Education and Technology!
CSET is an initiative where (relatively) local groups all over the world meet during the 8th week of 2025 around the common theme of problematising education and digital technology. The idea is to engage in networking without the need for excessive travel. Key takeaways from the discussions at the different local meetings will be synthesized into an open report.
The Gothenburg meeting is organized into roundtable discussions on four key questions that are common for all CSET 2025 local meetings.
10:00-10:30 Welcome and introduction round
10:30-11:45 Roundtable 1
11:45-12:00 Roundtable 2
12:00-13:00 Lunch
13:00-13:45 Roundtable 3
13:45-14:30 Roundtable 4
14:30-15:00 Fika
15:00-16:00 Discussion of key takeaways from the roundtable sessions and possible future directions
The Gothenburg CSET 2025 meeting is open to scholars with an interest in critically discussing issues related to education and digital technology. Scholars may come from anywhere, but those who can travel by train, bus or boat are especially encouraged to attend. It will be held at the University of Gothenburg Department of Applied IT at Lindholmen, a 10 min bus or tram/boat ride from the central station.
Participation in the meeting is free of charge. It will include lunch and fika in the afternoon. If you would like to attend, send a short email to thomas.hillman@ait.gu.se with your name and where you work.
For those intending to stay in Gothenburg the night before the meeting, there will be an opportunity to have dinner with other participants at 19:30. If you are interested in attending, include that in your email. For other questions, contact annika.bergviken-rensfeldt@gu.se
There are many hotels in Gothenburg, but these are close to the venue:
